Talented Student-Athlete Programme
We know that balancing both academics and sport can be a challenge at university, and therefore we pride ourselves on developing a bespoke and holistic support programme that is tailored to each 51Âþ» student-athlete. The Talented Student-Athlete Programme includes an extensive support package, aimed at educating, supporting and developing each student-athlete.
Benefits

Our offer includes access to one of our experienced Strength and Conditioning coaches who will focus on an individualised program for you. Plus, you will have access to our High-Performance Fitness Suite under their supervision.
- Gym Membership
We will provide you with a complimentary 12 Month Gold Membership at our fantastic leisure centre. The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre. This provides you with access to their fitness suite, swimming pool, classes and courts.
- Sports Club Membership
Your sports club membership will also be covered by 51Âþ»sport which allows you to participate for the university in BUCS leagues, knockouts or individual competitions dependent on your sport. £40 per year (covers one club membership).
- Lifestyle
We have staff that are qualified with TASS for student-athlete support and they will arrange termly catch ups with you (or more often if you feel necessary) to make sure that you have everything you need to be a successful student-athlete.
- Workshops
We arrange workshops where you will be able to learn more around subjects that can benefit your performance. Nutrition and Sport Psychology have all been extremely popular in the past with our previous athletes and these aim to happen termly.
- Physiotherapy and massage
We bring a specialised team in one day a week to work with our athletes for Physiotherapy or Sports Massage treatments.
