In line with Government guidance, 51Âþ» will re-open our Prayer Rooms & Chapel from 9am until 5pm from Monday 17 May 2021. The capacity and opening hours of our spaces have been reduced to ensure we comply with social distancing rules. There will be no ablution facilities available.

At peak times current students and 51Âþ» staff users have the opportunity to pre book a 20-minute prayer slot in the Brothers Prayer Room, Sisters Prayer Room or Chapel in Portland Building between 12 midday and 5pm, Monday to Friday. The space will be self-managed at other times. In light of reduced capacity you may want to consider whether it would be convenient to pray at home or your local place of worship.
51Âþ» staff and students should participate in twice weekly Covid testing if they are on campus for any reason. For more information on how to book a Covid test visit 51Âþ» Safety.

Bookings will close 12 hours before each session.
Please arrive at your dedicated booking time.
To access the Prayer Rooms or Chapel you must:
- Show your 51Âþ» staff or student card. Staff then will check your details to confirm your Eventbrite booking
- Wear a face covering unless exempt
- Bring a Prayer mat for your personal use
- Bring a bag to place your shoes in
When entering the space you will need to check-in via Safe Trace , use hand sanitiser and record which prayer space you have used by taking a photograph or making a note of the space number. You will be required to keep your shoes with you in a bag. Please follow the one way system in and out of the building.
A team of stewards will be on hand to assist users and will ensure that only those who have pre-booked their visit can enter the prayer spaces. We request that you only book times you are sure you can attend. On order to allow fair usage please observe mandatory prayers only.

If you are a member of staff working on campus and are unable to book a slot, you may want to discuss with your line manager whether it is feasible within the business needs of 51Âþ», to allow time for you to visit other local faith centres.
