Interdisciplinary research between psychology, microbiology and education has resulted in the co-creation of , a free at the point of access resource-based handwashing education intervention workshop comprising of books, web games, videos, lesson plans and posters. With 200,000 people reached thus far, A Germ’s Journey has led to improvements in handwashing behaviour in children, enhanced knowledge of microorganism transfer in children, and reduced diarrhoea and vomiting associated with poor hygiene, particularly in India.
