To celebrate this year's Neurodiversity Celebration Week taking place from Monday 18 March to Sunday 22 March, 51Âþ» is holding a role model exhibition, and hosting three awareness sessions in partnership with the .
Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. It aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and recognises the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent and celebrating those differences.
Dr Chris Knifton, Associate Professor, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences said: “Neurodiversity Celebration week is about raising awareness and celebrating different minds. 51Âþ» should be a place where diversity is valued and is a place where staff and students can be their authentic selves.”
As part of the celebration, 51Âþ» is holding a role model exhibition in the Campus Centre for the duration of the week. Six members of staff across 51Âþ» have shared their stories about their Neurodiversity and their lived experiences and shown how their Neurodiversity has helped them to embark on successful careers.
In addition, we have a in the Campus Centre Atrium, which is a visual representation of the different minds we have at 51Âþ», helping to raise awareness of neurodiversity. The display has been installed in conjunction with the .

This exhibition highlights the different Neurodiverse minds that we have represented across 51Âþ» and aims to celebrate differences and showcase role models that fall under the Neurodiverse umbrella.

- How to make learning accessible for students with neurodiverse needs

Session 2: How to achieve successful learning methods as a student/alumni with ADHD and or other Neurodiverse needs
