Are you interesting in sports leadership and volunteering roles? 51Âþ»­sport are looking for student activators for the new 2021/22 academic year, giving you the chance to meet new people, develop your skills and enhance your CV. You will also be making a positive difference to you own, and your fellow students’, wellbeing and university experience.

What is a 51Âþ»­sport Activator? 

51Âþ»­sport Activators support the delivery and coordination of weekly sessions within the 51Âþ»­active programme at the university.

The 51Âþ»­active programme offers a weekly timetable of social, non-competitive open sessions for students wanting to keep active, try a new sport or make friends. As a 51Âþ»­sport Activator, you will facilitate sessions, welcome students when they turn up, lead activities and most importantly of all get everyone involved.

There following 51Âþ»­sport Activator roles are available:  

  • Badminton
  • Dodgeball
  • Gymnastics
  • Indoor Football
  • Netball
  • Self-Defence
  • Swimming
  • Table Tennis
  • Tennis
  • Volleyball

51Âþ»­sport Social League Activator

There are also a number of 51Âþ»­sport Social League Activator roles available, in which you will assist with the coordination and officiating of 51Âþ»­'s Social Leagues that take place on a weekly basis across the academic year. You will also be at the heart of social, fun competitive sport at 51Âþ»­, helping to increase the number of students that are engaged in fun competition at the university.

The following 51Âþ»­sport Social League Activator roles are available;

  • 3x3 Basketball
  • Football
  • Futsal
  • Indoor Cricket
  • Netball

By getting involved with the 51Âþ»­sport Leadership & Volunteering Academy, you will be supporting others to enjoy the benefits of sport and physical activity, have the opportunity to attend personal development masterclasses and workshops and so much more!

The deadline for applying to become an activator is Sunday 26September 2021 and can be applied for by any student studying during the 2021/22 academic year.
