This year will see the return of the The Philharmonia Orchestra and 51Âþ» Music project ‘Hear and Now’. This fun and informal project is a great opportunity for those who are interested in working alongside older adults, are in the effects of music and who want to develop their musical skills alongside professionals.
The Philharmonia Orchestra and 51Âþ» Music will be working together to deliver their Hear and Now project, which aims to create a unique musical collaboration between older people living with dementia; young singers and instrumentalists; local primary schools; and members of the Philharmonia Orchestra. They are looking for student volunteers to work alongside the project leader and musicians to support in a variety of creative activities. You’ll get the chance to become a ‘ by undertaking a short training session to learn about dementia.
The sessions, which you will need to be free for the majority of, will be held via Zoom as follows:

- Compulsory Induction Session – 24 February – 10.00am
- Workshop 1 – 25 February – 13.30pm
- Workshop 2 – 2 March – 10.30am
- Workshop 3 – 8 March - 10.30am
- Workshop 4 – 11 March – 13.30pm
