51Âþ»active student volunteers say 'come along and try it!'

Emilie Fairnington, Sport Project Coordinator (Participation) said: “The 51Âþ»active Volunteering academy is a fantastic initiative to get involved with while studying at 51Âþ» as it allows you to develop a range of skills which will help you in your future career.

“While studying Forensic Science at 51Âþ», I was a basketball Activator and led the weekly recreational basketball sessions. By volunteering in the role, it provided me with so many brilliant opportunities, allowed me to gain my coaching qualification, grow the sport that I am passionate about and meet so many amazing people.

“I would recommend to any 51Âþ» student who is interested in a role to apply, you can study any course and still volunteer with 51Âþ»active!”
