Specialists in intelligent transport and transport infrastructure solutions

The 51Âþ» Interdisciplinary research Group in Intelligent Transport Systems (DIGITS) is a vibrant research group of academics who focus on innovating in a wide range of fields including intelligent mobility, transport and infrastructure, agriculture, health and the environment. The group of 20+ members of staff from various disciplines was formally formed in 2011 to progress blue-sky theoretical research, applied research and commercialisation. The group is dedicated to carrying out research, such as mathematical and computational modelling and optimisation, and developing programs that will progress the introduction of innovative solutions across the UK, the European Union and internationally.

By working in partnership with industry, transport service providers, government and other research institutes and communities the group provides answers to technological, economic and societal questions. DIGITS focuses on three themes:

  • Intelligent Multi-Objective Traffic Management
  • Electric Vehicle Adaptive Engine Management
  • Intelligent Modelling and Optimisation in Agriculture

Integrated Traffic Management and Air Quality Control Using Space Services (iTRAQ)
