International Incorporated Master's

The International Incorporated Master's (IIM) is ideal for students who want extra support during their postgraduate studies. The Pre-Master's is the first stage of the IIM and is delivered at 51Âþ»­IC. Throughout your Pre-Master's, you will be given support with your English language training and taught academic skills to bring you to postgraduate success. 

The duration of an IIM is either:

  • 15 months  (1 term Pre-Master's and a 12-month master's course) or,
  • 18 months (2 term Pre-Master's and a 12-month master's course)

The length of the IIM depends on your level of English ability.

IIM routes

  1. Business

    The Business IIM will give you the in-depth grounding needed for postgraduate study at 51Âþ»­â€™s Leicester Business School, which is at the forefront of business education in the UK.

    It is specially designed to introduce you to the challenging and intensive study environment you can expect as a postgraduate student.

    On this course you will:

    • Be able to select specialist topics including management, entrepreneurship, finance and marketing.
    • Be introduced to the postgraduate learning environment.

    • Issues in International Human Resource ManagementÌý
    • Introduction to Accounting
    • Fundamentals of Marketing

    Upon successful completion of the Pre-Master (Stage 1), you will continue onto stage 2 of your chosen IIM degree at 51Âþ»­.

  2. Engineering

    The Engineering IIM will let you develop an industry-relevant portfolio, gain the ability to lead large engineering projects and help to bring a new academic approach to your work. ÌýAlongside engineering modules, you will take core academic modules to aid you in your studies.

    Rewarding yet challenging, engineering is ideal for people who enjoy solving problems and creating solutions. The International Incorporated Master's in Engineering is designed to meet the needs of modern industry. ÌýIt will give you a thorough grounding in the theories of engineering as well as a sound practical knowledge in a subject which offers excellent career prospects.

    On this course you will:

    • Gain a thorough grounding in engineering theory
    • Prepare for the postgraduate learning environment

    Modules:

    • Systems Integration
    • Individual Project

    Upon successful completion of the Pre-Master's (Stage 1), you will continue onto stage 2 of your chosen IIM degree at 51Âþ»­.

Entry requirements

English language

One-term IIM: IELTS 6.0 (no component below 5.5) 

Two-term IIM: IELTS 5.5 (no component below 5.5)

If you do not meet these English Language requirements, we can offer you a pre-sessional English course to be studied immediately before you enter the first/second stage of your chosen programme:
One term IIM +6 week Pre-Sessional English: IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.0 in each component, except writing which must be 5.5

Two terms IIM +6 week Pre-Sessional English: IELTS 5.0 with no less than 4.5 in each component

Two terms +12 week Pre-Sessional English: IELTS 4.5 with no less than 4.0 in each component

Academic qualifications

You will need a high school certificate or equivalent from your home country. See .
