51Âþ» Support Fund - EU and international student information

Am I eligible to apply?

EU student with Migrant Worker status:

  • You must be enrolled on your course
  • If you are in receipt of SFE Migrant Worker status and qualify for the full funding package, you can apply to this Fund – please refer to the other tabs for more information
  • If your Migrant Worker status has been blocked, or put on hold, you can’t apply to this Fund
  • If you had to give up work for exceptional reasons and you can show evidence of this, then you may be eligible to apply. Please contact us first to check.

EU students with five years residency:

  • You must be enrolled on your course
  • If you have applied for ‘Home’ status funding because you have resided in the UK for five years or more (other than for the purposes of education) and if SFE approve you for the full 'Home' funding package, you can apply to this Fund – please refer to the other tabs for more information.

International and EU students who don’t fit the above eligibility:

  • If you are facing an unexpected financial crisis, you need to book an appointment with a Welfare Officer to discuss your situation. Please do not apply to this Fund before you have spoken to a member of staff, as your application will not be considered
  • You would need to be up-to-date with your Tuition Fee payments. If you have a tuition fee debt (or other debt) to the University, you will not be eligible to apply.

You must be able to prove you made sufficient financial provision for living costs at the start of the academic year, or prove that you are working and can demonstrate what you would earn over the academic year.
