BUCS Wednesday returned on Wednesday 15 January for our 51Âþ»sport teams. There were four fixtures for #Team51Âþ» this week for our tennis, volleyball, lacrosse and basketball teams.
We went to the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre on campus to cheer on the 51Âþ» Dragons Volleyball team in its match against the University of Warwick’s second team.
The 51Âþ» Dragons played a strong game throughout and never let Warwick get ahead. It was only in the final set that the scores moved closer together, but that seemed to spur the Dragons on to get 10 points ahead and take the point. The team won the fixture against Warwick with a score of 3-0, a fantastic start to the new term.

Women’s volleyball coach, Steve Jones, said: “This was always going to be quite a difficult match.
“Warwick have got some very tall players but we showed great control, we absorbed a lot of pressure, and at this stage in the season we’re making less errors because we’re getting to know each other.”
“As a coach, I’m really, really pleased with the team so far.”
