Three steps to help you get to net zero

Businesses are being offered free support and funding to develop a plan that will help them get to Net Zero and cut their carbon emissions.

51Âþ» Leicester (51Âþ»), the University of Leicester, Loughborough University and East Midlands Chamber have joined forces to help companies in Leicestershire.

It is hoped to reach more than 200 people and support more than 80 businesses through the work, which is funded by the Government’s Community Renewal Fund.

Step 1: Carbon Literacy Training. Free one-day sessions on the fundamentals of decarbonisation

Step 2: Sustainability Audits: Trained teams of students will visit you to complete a Sustainability Audit for your organisation.

Step 3: Businesses will be offered three options depending on what is most relevant to them:

  1. Decarbonisation Plan: a free step-by-step plan created with you for your organisation to pursue to meet your decarbonisation targets
  2. Placement: take a paid-for placement with a student or graduate to focus on a sustainability project in your organisation for 6 weeks
  3. Grants: there are grants available to go towards equipment or feasibility studies.
