“Most importantly my study there taught me how to ask questions and that basis has informed my choreography and the exploration of world cultures in my work.

“I look forward to sharing my curiosity with the students and staff at 51Âþ» and being an advocate for the university in my Chancellorship.”

Chairman of the Board of Governors, Ian Squires, said: “The university is delighted to welcome Akram Khan as the new Chancellor of 51Âþ».
