The 2022 Top 200 Companies list is being compiled by 51Âþ» and published by LeicestershireLive. It will be the first comprehensive list to be drawn up for two years and aims to reflect the vital role and scope of the county’s businesses.
Companies will be ranked by turnover and the information will be based on data held at Companies House, the UK’s official register of firms.
Professor David Rae of 51Âþ»’s Centre for Enterprise and Innovation, said: “We are delighted to be bringing back the renowned Leicestershire Top 200 Businesses after a two-year break and to report on the fortunes of our county’s leading businesses.
“Our team at Leicester Castle Business School at 51Âþ» also compiles the annual East Midlands Top 500 Businesses index which will return in Spring 2022.”
The firms included are national and international players, which support tens of thousands of jobs and pump billions into the economy.
As well as celebrating the listing and the people involved in putting it together, it will also acknowledge Leicestershire’s biggest business, 2022’s highest climber and the highest new entry.
Richard Edwards, regional events manager for LeicestershireLive and BusinessLive parent company Reach Plc in the Midlands and South East regions, said the listing reflected the success of the large and medium sized companies that have made the regional business community what it is today.
Mr Edwards said: “It has never been more important to celebrate the vital role played by our county’s largest companies.
“We have some exceptional businesses located in our region who are achieving great things - they are living proof of Leicestershire’s economic resilience and strong commercial vitality.”
The listing, sponsored by Pattersons Commercial Law, will be revealed at an invitation-only breakfast event set to take place on Tuesday, January 18 at Winstanley House, Leicester.
Rik Pancholi, managing director of Pattersons Commercial Law, said: “As a corporate and commercial law firm, all we do is support small and medium businesses and it’s fantastic to see some of our clients being counted amongst Leicestershire’s top businesses.
“When the opportunity came along to work with LeicestershireLive to support Leicestershire’s Top 200 in January 2022, we thought there would be no better way to start the year than with such a fantastic celebration.”
The Leicestershire list is being published alongside the Top 500 East Midlands Companies list published by BusinessLive. 51Âþ» teamed up with the University of Derby and Nottingham Trent University to compile the list.
