Stay clear about your options, secure your place at university

Students who want to start a university course in 2020/21 should now have received their results in most cases, including BTEC students – but we understand that many will still have questions about the next step and we want you to know that we’re very much here to help.

Please call us on 0116 257 7000 (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday) or send us a WhatsApp on  to discuss your options.

CAMPUS A-levels main

51Âþ» will always try to consider the person applying, their wider learning and personal achievements, and their plans for the future. We’re here to help you explore all your future options – and to try to keep things as straightforward as possible. So:

  • If you’ve received your grades from an examining body, we can make an offer and accept you on to a course at 51Âþ» if these grades meet the course entry requirements.
  • We are able to make offers based on Centre Assessed Grades (or CAGs) – also known as ‘teacher-awarded grades’; we can make you a conditional offer now and then once we have your CAGs, from either your school, college or UCAS, we can accept you on to a course.
  • If you don’t know your CAG, we can also use predicted grades to make an offer – then accept you on to a course once we receive your CAG or awarded grades.
  • We can make offers based on mock results, and accept when you have your CAGs or awarded results.
  • The appeals process as part of the triple-lock system no longer exists, but if you’re not satisfied with your grades and believe you have grounds for appeal you may find useful information here.
  • If you’re thinking of still sitting an exam in the autumn, please contact us to discuss this.

We believe in every individual’s ability to succeed, so we’ll look at you the person as well as looking at your grades. We can explore alternatives that support your application including an assessment of your ability from your teacher, school or college.

Alongside your actual grades, we will still make sure we look at the wider context of your learning and achievement, including personal statement, work experience and interviews and portfolios, if appropriate.

We’ll aim always to use the best evidence for your quality and ability.

Being clear about Clearing

If you applied for a 2020/21 start with us and didn’t secure a place on your chosen course, and would like to speak to us again, please contact us and we would be happy to look at your options.

If you are looking to apply through Clearing we are still able to make offers and will be as flexible and supportive as we can to make sure we help you in securing your chosen course.

We encourage anyone considering applying to us through Clearing to act now. Again, you can contact us by calling on 0116 257 7000 or sending us a WhatsApp on .

  • Paramedicine
  • Associate Ambulance Practice
  • Adult Nursing
  • Mental Health Nursing

Please contact us if you believe you will be impacted and we can discuss options with you.

If you have already secured your place at 51Âþ», please be assured that nothing will change. Congratulations – we look forward to working with you.
