Dr Iulia Salaoru joined the School of Engineering and Sustainable Development at 51Âþ»­ as a member of academic staff in April 2016. Prior to this, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Bio-inspired Technology - Imperial College London (September 2011-April 2013); Nanofabrication Centre - University of Southampton (April 2013-July 2014) and Warwick Manufacturing Group - University of Warwick (August 2014-March 2016).  

Iulia obtained her BSc degree in Physics; MSc degree in Physics of Thin Films and PhD degree in Solid State Physics from Al.I.Cuza University, Iasi, Romania.  Her PhD work was focussed on A²B⁶ chalcogenide compounds, materials with interesting properties and important applications in photovoltaics.
