About Me

I graduated from 51Âþ» in 2014 with my BSc (Hons) Psychology degree, and I am currently half way through my MSc in Psychological Well-Being. Outside of work I enjoy reading, walking, swimming and cooking.

Role Summary

As the REF Impact Officer, I work with my colleague Liz Bonnet in the Research Services Directorate’s Research Governance Team.

I am here to support and advise academics in regards to their REF Impact Case Studies across the university, as well as support staff in areas such as Pathways to Impact at the funding application stage, through to guidance on tracking and evidencing research impact during and after a project.

Areas of Expertise

My expertise comes from working in various research and research office-based positions across disciplines, as I have previously worked as a Research Assistant. I also held a position in Research Impact , as well as working in an Open Access Position within a Research Office environment.

Experience and Accomplishments

I previously worked at Birmingham City University as a Research Assistant on two pedagogy projects in the School of Education, then went on to the position of Research Impact Administrator. In this role I analysed case studies post REF2014 for examples of best practice, and my role grew to support and advise academics in Research Impact.

I also managed BCU’s Open Access Repository; assisting in its initial establishment, then later trained academic staff, overseeing day-to-day administration and conducting periodic compliance checks and reports for Research Committees.
