Dr de Condappa's research investigates the spatial processes underlying the selection and use of different wayfinding strategies across the adult lifespan. Specifically, Olivier is interested in the use of landmark-based allocentric and egocentric strategies for different navigation tasks, and the effects of aging on strategy selection. In addition, Olivier's research examines the selection and use of environmental cues (i.e. landmarks) to support the acquisition and use of spatial knowledge.

Dr de Condappa's research focus also includes the effects of aging on strategy repertoires, task switching and alternation costs. Finally, Olivier is interested in navigation-related oculometrics, particularly gaze behaviour and task-related variations in pupil size (i.e. pupil dilation).
