Personal profile

Julia Cook is Head of School – Leadership, Management and Marketing at De Montfort university. As part of her role, she is responsible for strategic leadership in the school including portfolio development, student experience, resource planning and enterprise and commercial activity. Julia has undertaken many roles within the university including Marketing Subject Lead, Associate Professor Student Experience and Associate Dean Academic. Within these roles her focus has been on fostering an environment of inclusive education, teaching excellence and a student-centred curriculum. Following an extensive period in industry working in product and brand management, Julia started her academic career in the marketing subject area and has been involved in the development of many of the marketing programmes within the school and still teaches advertising and brand related modules. Her responsibilities also include being the sustainability lead for the Business and Law faculty and she is currently working at university level to embed sustainability throughout the curriculum.
