Dr Bola Babajide is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance, and Institute Head of Research Students (IHRS). She completed her PhD in Finance at the university of Hull and joined 51Âþ» as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance in 2016.
Bola has published articles in leading accounting and finance journals. Her current research projects focus on climate risk, alternative sources of finance (trade credit), corporate social responsibility, financial distress and corporate governance. She serves as a reviewer for Journal of Corporate Governance.
Bola's research interests are in the area of Climate Risk, Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Corporate Liquidity and Risk Management. She is a member of The British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) and British Academy of Management (BAM).
Prior to assuming the role of Programme leader for BSc Accounting with business management, Bola was the Deputy programme leader for BA Accounting and Finance. She teaches undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses in accounting and finance including MBA Global and ACCA programmes. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.
Bola enjoys learning Spanish in her spare time.
