Lisa is a lecturer within the School of Design and a commercial interior design practitioner. Her teaching across under and post-graduate courses includes Interior, Fashion & Textiles, Footwear Design, Fashion Buying Marketing & Management, Design Management, Design Entrepreneurship, research methodologies and academic writing. She also teaches NVivo software for qualitative research.

Lisa's PhD (2019) used Grounded Theory to consider the cause, symptoms and management of sketch inhibition among under-graduate designers across multiple disciplines; an issue commonplace within education but little addressed by the academy worldwide. As a result, she has become one of a very few specialists engaging with the phenomenon in design higher education, publishing some of the most contemporary work in respect of this. She has a BA Hons in Art & Design from Suffolk College (1996) and an MA in Design & Manufacture from 51Âþ»­ (1997).

Her interests include design cognition and visual learning pedagogies, developing tools for students with learning differences and international students for whom such approaches are beneficial. She runs workshops in design process sketching and inhibition management as part of her consultancy and is currently working on various related publications.

As a commercial interior & exhibition designer since 1997, her clients include Epson, Pfeizer, Avis, Westminster College, Wellington College, Sodexo.
